This grant provides partial support for the creation of a statewide online database for Michigan arts organizations. The database is part of the Michigan Cultural Data Project, an initiative of ArtServe Michigan and the Pew Charitable Trusts. The Michigan Cultural Data Project will provide Michigan arts organizations and funders with comprehensive data regarding the financial support and economic impact of arts regionally and statewide. As the Michigan nonprofit voice of arts and culture, ArtServe Michigan enhances the state's arts and culture sector through advocacy, capacity building, and strategic communications.

This grant renewal will allow PHI to continue to deepen its presence in Michigan by improving career advancement opportunities and the training infrastructure for direct-care healthcare workers in the state, and assist Michigan direct-care workers to attain measurable progress toward economic self reliance. Finally, through this grant, PHI will continue building a Michigan-based PHI Midwest Regional Center to expand the impact of its efforts to other states in the region.

Helping local entrepreneurs start new ventures – and add to the region’s economy – is the focus of a new loan program in the Mott Foundation’s hometown of Flint, Michigan. The program is funded through a $125,000 grant from Mott to Metro Community Development.
