The program goal is to stimulate greater public participation in decision making and community building in five counties in eastern Croatia. During the grant period, the Community Foundation Slagalica will provide grants, organize training, raise public awareness about civic responsibility, and carry out advocacy initiatives. The foundation was established in 2007 by two nongovernmental organizations in eastern Croatia, both of which are long-term Mott grantees. Building on the extensive experience of these two organizations, the foundation will help local communities implement more participatory decision-making processes, stimulate civic involvement in improving community life, and mobilize local resources for local projects and activities. The foundation is based in Osijek and works in five counties in eastern Croatia.
