The program goal is to mobilize financial resources and promote philanthropy in Bulgaria. To this end, the Bulgarian Charities Aid Foundation will promote workplace and payroll giving schemes, administer corporate giving programs, and train nongovernmental organizations on local resource mobilization and financial management. The foundation was established in 1995 with the mission to develop philanthropy in Bulgaria and increase resources available for charitable purposes. The foundation is on the forefront of developing innovative approaches to unlocking financial resources through individual and corporate giving in Bulgaria. The foundation's key achievements in 2008-2009 include raising over $850,000 from individuals and companies in Bulgaria for regranting, developing philanthropic programs for seven new companies, and organizing 6,000 hours of corporate volunteering.
