This grant will provide continued support to the United Way of Genesee County for the Building Excellence, Sustainability and Trust (BEST) Nonprofit Capacity Building project, which is an initiative designed to build the capacity of Genesee County nonprofit organizations to meet the ever-increasing needs of their clients and the community. During this grant period, the third cohort agencies, as well as a number of other local nonprofits, will engage in a variety of capacity building activities including customized consulting, peer learning, professional development, technical assistance, and governance board development and recruitment. Other funders of this local collaboration include the grantee, the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, and the Ruth Mott Foundation.
