The program goal is to involve more Russian citizens in supporting nonprofit organizations by improving their capacity to collect private donations and develop supportive constituencies. The NGO School will work to strengthen the professional skills of the fundraising community through a series of fundraising and resource mobilization workshops and through ongoing experience sharing within a fundraisers' club. It will also seek to use and catalogue successful fundraising strategies employed by a pilot project called the Live! Foundation, aimed at demonstrating the potential impact of innovative fundraising strategies in Russia. In 2008-2009, the grantee involved over 200 fundraisers in its training activities and saw the Live! Foundation raise over $40,000 from individuals at its inaugural fundraising event in Moscow. The NGO School was registered in 2002 and provides a range of services supporting the professional growth of the nonprofit sector in Russia.
