The City of Flint is facing a significant public safety challenge. Crime and violence are increasing across the city, while the city's budget crisis has caused a simultaneous reduction in the police force and public safety resources. The mayor of Flint is addressing the issue by reviving community policing strategies in collaboration with the Michigan State University School of Criminal Justice. This renewal grant will support the second year of the Flint 21st Century Community Policing project.
