This grant will allow Furman University to create and pilot the White-Riley-Peterson Policy Institute that will bring together a diverse group of 15 emerging leaders from the afterschool and education fields to serve as fellows. Furman University faculty and staff will work with national partners to design the institute and develop a competitive applicant pool. Over the course of a year, the fellows will be exposed to policy experts, an intensive policy curriculum, and national networking opportunities. Emerging policy leaders will complete the program with the ability to positively contribute to the development of policies that support afterschool and expanded learning opportunities for children across the country.
